All Somerville Arts prints are all produced by the use of the latest giclee (zhee-clay) technology.
So what is giclee (zhee-clay) printing?
This mechanism allows for individually produced, top end-resolution, high tech reproductions from a specialised large format printer. The prints are produced from digital scans of existing original artwork.
The print may be on velvet or smooth fine art papers. These 310gsm papers have a resin-based coating, acid-free cotton base matte surface with excellent colour reproduction and high black density.
We make use of the high spec digital technology to produce the finest quality photographic and fine art prints. The prints are produced using Ultrachrome inks giving a light fastness in excess of 75 years.
Using colour calibrated workflow, original artwork is produced to an exact reproduction standard.
