All About Eve

‘All About Eve’ was completed in 2011 in oils on canvas and is in private hands. In common with Ian’s later career work the images are colourfully blended into a semi abstract, almost geometric composition. There are leanings in this painting towards the German Expressionist painter Auguste Mache who sadly became a First World War casualty.

The painting has at it’s heart a spiritual motive dealing with the suggestive influence of those who have gone before us and continue to radiate memories and guidance. The intention is to allow the composition to mean different things to different people in their interpretations.

150 signed and authenticated limited edition prints of the work were released some of which are still available at £180 directly from Somerville Arts or selected art retailers.
