Blue Horses and Red Deer

’Blue Horses and Red Deer’ was completed in 2009 in oils on canvas. In common with Ian’s later career work, the images are blended into a semi abstract, almost geometric composition.

The painting in strong blue and red tones is of horses and deer living harmoniously in the wilds. The work aims to show the animals blending with nature and the central blue horse (Male) being coaxed along the path to the mountains.

150 signed and authenticated limited edition prints of the work were released for purchase, some of which are still available at £180 directly from Somerville Arts or selected art retailers.
