Deer at the Waterfall

Deer-at-The-Waterfall

The painting was first drafted in 2014 and developed experimentally in his Yorkshire studio until it was completed in August 2017. It is essentially oils on canvas and is based upon a beauty spot in the Yorkshire Dales known as the Strid to be found at Bolton Abbey. There are over thirty deer absorbed into the painting giving an overall feeling of surrealism to the work and making a hugely colourful impact. Ian’s aim is to provide the viewer with a never ending voyage of discovery in identifying these images.

A limited edition of 350 signed, authenticated and registered prints have been made available using the high quality and lasting process of Giclee printing. These are available directly from Somerville Arts or through a variety of leading art suppliers and galleries.
